Chernobyl: Nuclear Power Plant Simulation is a simulation of a nuclear power plant. The player takes control of the Chernobyl plant before the 1986 catastrophe, but this has no influence on the game, aside from the title of the game. Gameplay consists of looking at menus, analyzing numbers and entering commands through a parser, e.g. disabling generators or closing exhaust valves, to influence said numbers. The goal is to have a smooth power generation and, if something goes wrong, to follow the emergency guide given in the manual.

Description from the packaging:

Chernobyl is an authentic computer simulation by Paul Norman, author of Super Huey helicopter flight simulator series, and Defcon 5. In Chernobyl, the player's computer simulates being the central control room computer of a nuclear power plant. How you respond to each new crisis and in what sequence may determine the safety of millions of people, not to mention thousands of square miles of real estate! Remember, the reactor wants to live but its automatic defense mechanisms may be erroneous. A real-life dramatic challenge of stupendous proportions.
